Hi all.
New to the site and just wanted to show off my coupe.
Nothing much to see, really, just yet.
But, it's coming. Got to get the shop cleaned out and I have a spring '11
restart date.
Here's what it looked like in 1979 when I bought it.

Here it is in July 1954 Rod and Custom magazine.

The roadster is still with us as well. I just met the present owner a couple weeks ago.

Pretty much as it is now.

I'm going traditional with some updates for safety and convienence.
I don't have and can't afford a beefed up flathead like was in it back in the day, so I have a 351C 4V that'll twist through a 5 speed.
I built the chassis myself out of 2 X 4 tubing along with the rear 4 link set up.
I have a new Superbell axle up front with late model (41) spindles and disc brakes on homemade brackets.
When I first got the car, Lil' John's billet coupe was all the rage.

I was going to go that route. Foolishly (in hindsight) I sold the old frame and front suspension along with the stock 48 flattie that was in the car when I got it.
Then, billet boxes started showing up everywhere. I wanted to be different.
So I was going to so back to the way it was in the 50s.
Then those started showing up.
OK, I'll just slap it together rough and ragged.
Enter the "rat rod".
So, I'll just put it together like I want it. A little old, a little new and some of in between.
But try and retain the vintage look.
There are some different pics on my sign in post.
