    Door latch plates

My interior is done, but one thing that has always bugged me is the rather unattractive area around the door latch. Finally, I got tired of looking at it and built a pair of brushed aluminum plates to fit over the latch area. Has anyone else come up with any other methods of dealing with the latch opening?
