    Don,
Any pictures without the foam & material? Just wondering if you build boxes, or flat panels & foam? Steve's idea of holes covered with Pirelli webbing sounds interesting, too, to add some flex to the seat area.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

    Rog,
Don't have any pics in the raw.
Yes I cut out the base in the butt area, and run webbing(Ole boat seat trick)
Then cut all foam to desired shape.

This is how I built the seat frame in my roadster some years ago. The drawing is not to scale, by the way. It is made of 1 X 4 oak. I used furniture springs I obtained from our local upholstery shop and a synthetic fabric they use (instead of burlap) to cover the springs. I stapled that to the frame and then let my upholsterer do the rest. The seat back was a solid piece of 5/8" plywood. It was a comfortable seat.
