And other sizes.

It's a great tire for looks and traction but so far, very few miles, but on my 2500+/- pound car, should last for a long time as long as you don't smoke 'em at every startDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

Two classic examples of what I mentioned earlier. Both Beppie and Moter run a tire that is approximately 31" in diameter on similar cars. Their ride height is within an inch or so of the same based on wheel well clearance around the tire. Yet their rim size is very different in width and backspace, tire cross section is different, and of course the size nomenclature is very different. There's more to the answer than just saying, "I use XXXX size tire...."Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

I recently bought a pair of Coker / BFG, 285 / 70's from Jegs for 150.00 each + 13.00 s+h, BUT, had to return them. Took them to have them balanced at 2 different tire dealers and couldn't even get them close. Since then, heard a lot of similar problems. The old BFG's were fine, the Coker / BFG's suck.

Good to know--thanks for posting. I figure if I have to replace my P285/15's, I will get a pair of 17 inch rims and mount 30 inch tires. I considered doing that when I was building the car, but 15's saved me some cash. Who would have thought BFG would stop making P285's?!

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
