Need Help Installing a front u bolt

Hey Guys Frist time build here. I just got my front u bolt kit from speedway. Looks simple enough. I am using a standard front cross member. Heres the problem the u bolts that slide over the cross member are very tight going over the cross member. Once all the way down the hole in the bottom plate holes wont line up.Can somebody walk me thru installing it? The spring mounted to the axle. Where do the spacer plates go. Are they mounted to the sping bolt ? Any help ?

Probably not gonna be much help but i prefer to use the plate type as the u bolts chip the paint and make brake pipe running a lot neater.

Here's mine, you can just see the bracket
