This is so much better that "too hot". It sounds okay to me. I've got a 1971 Chevy truck w/350 and has similar pattern, i.e. 160 most of the time and I'm running a standard clutch-type fan. I think you're good..
Now - please get to work on the economy, jobs and health care and get back to us with similar good news!
