Thanks, Chevy 37!! I monitored that particular X-1 manifold and carbs Ebay auction and emailed the guy with a nice offer which he refused. I was told by another Ebayer that he tends to "gold plate" most of his stuff. I see that the reserve he had on the intake wasn't met so I may make him another offer in a day or two. Considering what I got my polished X-1 and 6 Holley 94 carbs for, I have a pretty good idea what the market value is on these things now (of course the "market" is whatever you can get someone to pay for something you're selling - BUT logic and a reasonable "sense of mind" should prevail in those kinds of situations, IMO). Ebay buyers who end up in "bidding wars" with other buyers sometimes get out of control and let $$$s and emotions override common sense (which often ruins the market for items like fairly rare intakes, carbs, et. al. just like Barrett's does for classic cars). Hard for an average working stiff like me to compete against overpaid, multi-million dollar actors and athletes who have more $$$s than common sense, IMO.
