    I keep throwing this up... maybe someone will give it a try before I can get to it...

    what about a motorcycle alternator mounted on the harmonic balancer?

    Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

    .....thanks Joe, yeah good post. Good idea to put an extra belt on in case you blow one! Forgot about having to take the driveshaft off to re-place a belt! But I see it'd be a much better idea to try to get the alternator on the engine. I'm going to go do some more measuring....

    Firebird, the Hamb post mentioned a motorcycle alternator.....
