I used one in a portable garage in Rhode Island over the winter, It worked real well. There is a filter that covers the fan and it worked well at keeping the dust out. I did get some rusting on my headers and exposed bolts. I did not have any problems with mice or mildew. They do make one for outside use but it can only be used in locations that don't have snow. The fan costs about a $1.00 a month to run, cheaper than the damage mice did to my car 2 winters ago. You can also buy one with battery backup if your area is prone to power failures. Carlg
