When I installed my tank I used the sender unit that came with the tank.When I installed the gauges they required a different Ohm than the one I had installed originally.I went ahead and installed the gauges ,but the gauge was not accurate,thus I had to pull the tank and put in the right Ohm sender. As for 12 V to 6 V that component is available at most electronics shops.
