Most collector car policies require that you not drive your car for daily purposes, like running to Wal Mart, going to the mall, picking up groceries, etc. Most people do it any way, especially if traveling to or from an event or for auto repair or maintenance. Most companies require that you have an insured daily driver and asks for a copy of your daily driver auto policy to verify that you do. At least the last three insurers that I have had did.
Only 1 had mileage restrictions and they also wouldn't allow for general transportation. Hagerty won't insure Cobras at all, don't know the reason behind that. I had Great American (now known as Infinity), and they had all of the above restrictions. Their pricing, even with mileage restrictions were higher than Grundy. If you want to drive your car daily, you might also want to check out State Farm and others that offer less restrictive polices but allow for "agreed value". You will likely pay a little more for the priviledge.Last edited by mopar34; 01-24-2008 at 08:01 AM.
