How's it stop with those brakes? Power assist or no? I love the look of them, and actually have the 2 big boxes of stuff sitting here beside me, along with a new pair of front wheels narrow enough to show them off... but the problem is, i finally got my GM discs working pretty darn good and it stops nice... I hate to "shoot a horse that's winning"... if you know what I mean.Joe Barr

Exactly... however, I already spent roughly 2 grand for a fully polished set of finned Buick drums, polished stainless 40 ford style backing plates, and Wilwood rotors/calipers, as well as a new pair of 15x5 front wheels to work with it all... the stuff is way too cool looking to not use. I figure Wilwood calipers gotta work as well or better than stocker mid 70's GM stuff...heck, lots of guys get by just fine with true 40 ford drum stuff up front...I figure this will give me the traditional look I'm going for and still be able to maintain the stopping power of disc brakes. I just always seem to have bad luck any time I mess with brake stuff.

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
