I don't think I would be permanently doing the firewall until you get your radiator clearance issue resolved. You may end up moving the engine back in the final analysis, and if the firewall is mounted........................

    Just a thought.

no problem ken , i cut the firewall so it would clear if i were to move engine back a half inch or one inch but at that point i would have to notch the firewall iand i really dont want to do it as i love the lines and finish .....im flustered and i just have to wait till my lil fan comes

Yep, we are. It's only metal, and can be moved around to get the right results. If this was easy, anybody could be a hot rodder.

This may give you a little look at the clearance I have. I will get the other ones with dimensions tomorrow.

Ken, Looks like the engine and radiator are all one piece. If you run into a swarm of love bugs they may push your rad into your pulleys. That could be nasty.

ok im really looking for honest answers here and i got my fan ......it fits perfect 1 inch forward from stock mounting holes ......i think im gonna do it i also took pics and it doesnt look bad at all , the only thing is the lower part of the grill shell shows a small gap that usally is up against the cross member i can make small filler panels so it looks factory to trick the eye and save me tons of work and frusteration ....im not looking to cut big corners i just think i can pull it off ....in the future also im having a 3 piece hood made for this as well ..

so guys throw rocks at me and put me in a choke hold .... (kidding) tell me what you honestly think ....

i dont want to hack the firewall !!!!

If one inch is all you need, my vote, for what it's worth, goes for moving the firewall back. I know that isn't what you want to hear, but in the final analysis it may save you work, especially come hood time. You can go with a stock dimension hood instead of a custom made one inch longer version.

You have gone to extreme lengths and expenditures to build the ultimate hot rod here. '32 Ford, blower motor, etc. Go the extra distance and solve this little problem and you will always know you have a no-compromise hot rod here.

The radiator doesn't look bad there, but..............................

PS: The reason I am using this logic is because it is the same logic my Son uses on me when I try to take some shortcut. He sits me down and says "Dad, you will never be happy with it done that way, do it right." So far, he is batting 1000.

it doesnt look bad at all
It doesn't . . . but is that the kind of endorsement you want?

That's as honest as I can get.

Hooray for you. It's like giving birth..........you won't remember the pain when it's all over, and you will have something to be proud of. Your Deuce is going to be spectacular anyway, this just makes it a little bit more perfect.
