Went to the first 2007 SCTA meet couple week-ends ago.

Took a break from sanding my roadster, packed my trailer and took off for 2 days. HUGE sand storm was pounding the lake. Got some great footage. Saturday it calmed down some so the meet was held. I saw amazing cars and filmed amazing footage. I had a BLAST. Can't wait for the next meet!

Made some new friends, including a very cool rodder from Fresno who tossed the key of his 32 3 window coupe at me and just said: "Go have some fun!"

He did not have to say it twice. Off I went zipping down the lake with open headers... He's got bias plys on it and I could not for the life of me tell any difference in the way the car handled. The lake surface is bumpy in areas... The car handled real well. I did not do donuts with it but he sure did (a lot) and I filmed them for the movie. the coupe would disappear in walls of flying sand but you oculd still hear the engine and then you could see, on and off the rear end emmerging from the dust.. Cool stuff.

Then he said "Hey let's do a burnout contest". So here I am am with 4 guys doing a contest for the longest burnout. We all used the same car. I got the second longest tire mark.

So I guess bias plys can do burnouts too ...

I talked to him about his tires and he said the only time he feels it is at 80mph on the freeway... And since he lives right around the corner from Coker in Fresno, he is helping me get a discount on tires and wheels to put on my roadster.

I am going with 16 inch in the back (will fill my wheel well nicely) and keeping my old 15s in front. Black walls. So hopefully by mid June my deuce will be ready to start the filming of flashback scenes. I can't wait.
