Low mount alternator with cross steer...
Has anyone run a low mount alternator on a '32 chassis with cross steer? I have the Vega 140 box and a short waterpump. In my case the Delco 10SI is too large. What smaller alternators have you been using?

It's from a Kubota tractor (v belt pulley), but there are other sources, just need to be aware of pulley style. Here's one that's pretty competitive in price, and if you're into chrome he sells one like that for $20 more; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ALTER...spagenameZWDVW

Okay, I found the guy who sells these with the bracket. He pitches it as for use with electric pump, but if you've got V belt pulleys it lines up fine for a mechanical pump.

Awesome, I will put 5 quarts in when the time comes. I've always used Valvoline, what viscosity would be recommended for So.Cal.?, and thanks again
