Has anyone run a low mount alternator on a '32 chassis with cross steer? I have the Vega 140 box and a short waterpump. In my case the Delco 10SI is too large. What smaller alternators have you been using?

Something like this?
That looks like it will work Bob. What is that alternator out of?
It's from a Kubota tractor (v belt pulley), but there are other sources, just need to be aware of pulley style. Here's one that's pretty competitive in price, and if you're into chrome he sells one like that for $20 more; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ALTER...spagenameZWDVW
The guy who made my bracket doesn't appear to be around anymore.
Thanks alot for the information, you really saved me alot of time.
Also try the POWERMASTER web site (JEGS & Summitt sell em' too) .........that have a gagle of small space alternators, brackets & pulleys.

Okay, I found the guy who sells these with the bracket. He pitches it as for use with electric pump, but if you've got V belt pulleys it lines up fine for a mechanical pump.
