Since this thread has re-surfaced, i figured I would update my own experiences... with the new steel fan pictured in the above post, I have driven 500 miles in the past few weeks and have never seen the gauge go past 180. Granted I have not sat idling for hours on end, but I've driven in all sorts of conditions, in town, stoplights, highways, etc, and have had NO cooling issues... it runs cooler than my 69 Camaro with a big block and giant 4 core radiator/clutch fan, shroud, etc. I should also note I have a full hood, not so much as a single louver on the sides or top, no water pump riser, and no shroud. There's a 180 thermostat in the intake, and the radiator is a new Walker. I'm actually amazed it runs as cool as it does, that little 15" 6 blade steel fan is getting it done.Joe Barr
