Everyone has a right to use what they want ... that's the cool thing about Hot Rods ... instead of restorations ... but I think they look totally out of place on a traditionally styled car ... if you have a 1-800-car with all new stuff ... built from Street Rodder magazine ... I guess they would be in keeping with the all new theme ...
I will keep the old school way ...
but then again ... my wife says I am stuck in 1957 ...
HiboyGal any chance of a picture I would like to see your setup.:D
Well, i just ordered this fan:
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/eccSto...910-1575_L.jpg
and a Walker (size C) molded fan shroud that i hope i can squeeze in without taking my hood sides off... I was going to order the one posted by Deuce from Summit, but figured I'd just order everything from the same place to save on double shipping/handling charges... I think its the same fan anyhow to be honest... hopefully it will help out my heating up at idle problems. By the way, I have 2 bottles of WaterWetter in it now, which I really don't know if they helped anything or not because i didn't have much of a baseline to compare against, but I see Speedway also sells something called 40 Below thats 21.00 for 30 oz. Is this basically the same stuff as waterwetter or something different? Could I put it in with 2 bottles of wetter already in there, will it make any difference at this point or should I keep my 21 bucks?
I don't now if adding another bottle of 40 below will make a lot of differance with your original water wetter, but I do know that I am a firm believer in the 40 Below as it has worked well for me.I will be draining my system this spring and adding another can.
Maybe somebody here can save me a bit of research time. I'm looking for an upper radiator hose application to fit. I'm running the zips water pump riser and a straight up waterneck on an sbc with a Walker radiator. I'd appreciate any help. Lots of good information out there.

I have the number around here somewhere ...
Will have to find the number ... :)
Since this thread has re-surfaced, i figured I would update my own experiences... with the new steel fan pictured in the above post, I have driven 500 miles in the past few weeks and have never seen the gauge go past 180. Granted I have not sat idling for hours on end, but I've driven in all sorts of conditions, in town, stoplights, highways, etc, and have had NO cooling issues... it runs cooler than my 69 Camaro with a big block and giant 4 core radiator/clutch fan, shroud, etc. I should also note I have a full hood, not so much as a single louver on the sides or top, no water pump riser, and no shroud. There's a 180 thermostat in the intake, and the radiator is a new Walker. I'm actually amazed it runs as cool as it does, that little 15" 6 blade steel fan is getting it done.
Deuce will not agree with me....but look at cool flex. You cut to length and you can get them in Chrome, black or any other color that might float your boat.Quote:
