I, like HR and Dave, ran wrinkle walls on the street and let me tell you, I was insane to do it. It did look kool but didn't work very well unless you could get a burn-out to clean them off, otherwise street tires worked better. We didn't have the big wide tires we have now back in the late 60's early 70's. I still haven't figured out a rear tire for looks and performance for the rear on my car, so this is a good thread for me to watch.

.....yes I also got 'caught' in the rain once with Mickey Thompson wrinkle wall drag slicks. Not a fun thing to drive on & myself being older & a little {but not much} wiser I probably wouldn't do that again. But these wouldn't be as bad as wrinkle wall slicks.... So I'm going to go for it..... I'd like to Thank everyone for all the replys. It's great to have a bunch of knowledgeable car guys/gals to run my ideas by. At least now I see that I won't have any unforseen problems running these {yeah only FORSEEN problems}..... Bill

Keep us informed about tires. Hopefully the 'stones will be more "Wet" tuned than a pair of race slicks.
