You are correct. We use the same method for building chassis in our shop.

When you are working with quality products, there are no holes in the body or the frame. Wescott does not drill the body holes. There is a mark where one should be, When you get the body fit where it goes, are satisfied with the hood fit, wheelwell fit, etc. Then you drill through the body and into the frame, tap the frame, then put the correct size bolt into the correct size hole. No slop. No movement. Everything stays put.
