I entered the car in the "under construction" class because a buddy of mine who is part of that car club and knows their standards well told me that this is where my best chances would be with a black primer car. Not having it painted would otherwise pretty much have disqualified me or something.

I was a good girl and did listen to his tip and it paid off. I was also told that getting an "hororable mention" for under construction was actually real hard and that I was to be very appreciative that it was given to me, so that's pretty cool. Of course all credit go to the many owners who have each contributed to make the car what it is today... me, I just appreciated it enough to want to spend all my savings on it... I have been talking to Eric in Wisconsin, the guy responsible for getting the roadster running back in 2001 and sharing with him the new exploits of his car. I figured he would be proud. I have been tracking the previous owners down one by one and climbing up the ladder of time.... This week I was able to locate and personally talk to 2 more owners and I am all the way back to 1989 in Minnesota. I await the oldest owner to remember which car this roadster was as he said he sold many many of them and cannot remember unless he saw a photo of it - but by now the car no longer looks the same. He ony kept it 6 months, probably bought it and turned around and sold it again.

I don't know about you guys but I am fascinated by my car's history, even though it is not very glamorous, since it is not a full 1932 roadster but more than likely a bunch of misc 32 and other parts put together by someone, maybe in the 80's or 70's or???? Who knows and that's what I am trying to find out.

Each owner has been very nice and all have tried to help in any way they could to locate the person they bought it from. I am also trying to get them to find photos and mail them to me so in the end I have a history with photos of the different stages of my hotrod and how it came to be. Pretty cool .

Just a little off-the-wall irony, Faith. You're the most enthusiastic rodder I've seen on this forum since I started.
