Man what a pain in the @ss. Finally have it mounted so that the lines look correct and now the damn thing is sticking upin the middle...

Where did you get the hood ?
"Sometimes" a glass body and a Rotlieb hood will not go together well.
You can try taking a 1/4 round piece of wood and placing it under the outside edges and press down (at the firewall lip). This will bring the edges out and the center down.
Keep making sure the belt lines are kept lined up.
If this "Massaging" does not work, see above.

I had this problem once.
I had to go to Hagan and have a hood made for it.

I agree with you about hoods being a PIA. I spent more time fitting the hood than anything else on the car. My body is an Outlaw 3-window, and the Rootlieb hood was not a perfect fit. The problem I had was the opposite of yours--mine sticks up a little on the edges of the cowl where it rounds down into the sides. I worked with it until I got it as good as I could get it and I had to live with the fact that it was "good enough." It's not all that noticeable except to me. If you ever look at an original '32, Henry's were not perfect either.

Never thought about that they were not perfect from the factory.....I am just so damn perticular it will drive me crazy.
Guess I will keep working and see what happens.

This is the reason I like my rods without a hood. We had a customer with a 32 that insisted on havind his hood fit "like a glove". We spent hours trying to massage it into place, then after trying everything else we could think of, had to cut the hood and reweld it. His was much farther off than yours though. patience is key... or just show off your engine
