I have an older 1963 327 engine and I took the old filter canister off and got a $10.00 adaptor to use a regular chevy spin on you can get one for a popular ford spin on for the same price. But like you did the old filter washer did the job and I will remember that tidbit. Ed ke6bnlOriginally posted by parrott

I got it fixed. The adapter takes the same gasket that the old canister oil filter used.Ed ke6bnl@juno.com
