    What Gas?

Hey guys, i have a 64 4 door belair with a inline 6 235 motor. Nothing speacial. Anyway, i hear that you are suppose to ass some sort of lead addative everytime you filll up on gas to help lubrucate the engine. Is this true? And is there a way to get around it, so i can run off regular pump gas, and not have to use an addative?THX

Tacoma?? and you live in Medford??.hehe...you didn'y say what the compression ratio is. If it is 10:1 or less, regular should be ok.or you can get the valve seats hardened to save on detonation I believe

My father ran the exact same motor in his 65 C-10. Diddnt do any damage to that engine. However, if you want to be safe, you could harden the valve seats and re-ring it. I think thats all thats involved with a un-leaded conversion.

    MYTH!!!
In a lightly stressed engine such as you have it's not an issue.
