The easy way to remove valve springs
how do i remove valve springs without pulling the cylinder heads?

Pull the plugs, put the end of the rope in the plug hole and then turn the motor so that the rope wedges against the bottom of the valves. Change the springs, turn the piston down and pull the rope out. Don't use the yellow rope, it sheds to many fibres. Use the white flexible rope.

i ilke the rope idea.
I used air and a compresion tester with the needle valve removed. You can buy the tool to remove hte valves on the car - i forget where I got mine, sears or snap on.com. Not expensive. I have done a couple of fords this way.
Be careful NOT to drop the split retainers into the engine (or the gravel driveway in one case - hard to find!)Chris
