    Rebuilding a 283

Guys - I made notes on tearing down a '65 Studebaker's 283 engine, but during that process I found a few of the numbers on the piston rods facing opposite the majority. Just so I have this right; the numbers on the rods are on the ODD side of the block, correct? By that I mean where pistons 1, 3, 5 and 7 reside.
    Thanks!

I'm not sure if that's a McKinnon built motor but I did find this video of a Steadybreaker 289 being assembled and he shows an interesting feature of the rods.... one side beveled the other side isn't. About 20 minutes in... maybe it'll help

Just so you know, there were no Studebaker motors installed in either the 1965 or 1966 Studebaker cars. Production had moved to Canada and Chevrolet was providing the prime power, with a 194 cubic inch six and the very well known 283 cubic inch V8 Chevrolet motor.
