If its a Gen 1 305 I would save my money and find a 327 or 350 after you run the numbers to see if its really a 305, Vortech where good heads though, the smogger early 80's 305 heads are terrible in my opinion. If everything is equal as in wear, it will cost the same for a rebuild on a 350 as it would a 305. Having fun is the main thing in hot rodding and a its not much fun after you spend all the money and labor on a motor that doesn't run very well. Good luck & have fun. Matt
