Sounds like you forgot the muffler bearings and blinker fluid.

Adjusting valves while motor is running is the easiest and messiest way.

Back it off till it ticks, run it down till it don't..

Now the rub:

No one seems to agree on the additional turn

Opinions vary from quarter to full.

Half turn is pretty safe.
