    76 L48 Mini Starter Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 76 L 48 with TH 350/168 tooth flywheel in a Vette and I'm putting some ceramic coated Hooker Headers on. I just recently bought and installed a Powermaster 9100 Mini Starter that is supposed to work for either 168T or 153T flywheels but it doesn't do the job. I have it bolted into the correct holes but the bendix lacks appoximately an inch and a half straight out of even reaching the flywheel ring gear. Can anyone who has had this issue or set up let me know what mini starter will work? Thanks!!!

If the pinion lacks reaching the ring gear by an inch and a half axially, then the starter is obviously not for a small block Chevy. I might try someone else's starter and send the Powermaster starter back for credit.

This starter is stamped and boxed as 9100 but it aint gonna work for my 350 with 168 tooth flywheel. Just my luck I guess. Thanks for your recommendation!!!
