    Did any of you twist tie wires on the hay balers?? Before the automatic ones??

    Yep.
    For one season only.
    The hay was swept to the baler and forked in, and two kids were given the job of tying the wire, being not strong enough to fork hay all day.
    Not the best job in the world...

    I remember the baling wire balers. Never had to ride one of them
    but I remember my Dad and Uncle punching those wires.
