Question Help With Chevy 350---Gauges & Auto Trans

I need someone to help me hook up my gauges and with a floor shifter...

    I--Gauges--
1--How do I hook up the oil pressure gauge?
2--How do I hook up the oil temperature gauge?
3--How do I hook up the water temp gauge?
4--How do I hook up the amp gauge?
5--How do I hook up the Volt gauge?

    I have a TH350 auto trans---
Can I use ANY floor shifter with this trans?

    Thanks to all.

    1) There's an oil pressure port beside the distributor, adjacent to the intake manifold and another just above the oil filter on the driver's side rear. The electric gauge that you buy will have a sending unit that screws into either of these ports, and a single wire between them, plus a common ground to the gauge.

    2) Oil Temp will require some fabrication. Your gauge will come with a termocouple or RTD sensor that needs to be immersed in the oil. You'll need to weld in a nut/bung on the side of the oil pan to fit the sensor, then wire between them. Some aftermarket pans have a turbo oil return fitting on the side that might work for this, provided it's below that oil level.

    3) You should find two or three pipe plug fittings on the front of your intake, near the water pump neck that connects to the upper radiator hose. Any of these fittings can be removed for the temp sensor that will come with your water temperature gauge. Again, one wire between them, with a common ground to the gauge.

    4) Amps - you REALLY do not want to run an amp gauge! This requires a heavy gauge conductor in series with the alternator to battery circuit, and it serves no good purpose other than the opportunity to short out your whole system. Scratch the AMP gauge.

    5) The volt meter gives you the overall health of the electrical system, and all you need is a 12V connection from your ignition switch that's hot when "ON".

On the shifter, you have to buy a shifter that's made for a TH350. Here's a link to LOKAR - Lokar Performance Products | Automatic Transmission Shifters | Part Numbers The first six shifters are for the TH350 and will serve you well, depending on how tall you want the stick to be.
