1988 350 with high lift cam = computer problems?

I'm new here. Bought a Rod with a 88 Vette 350 w/cam. When cold it sounds like rods are loose. Stops when it warms . I'm told that it takes a few minutes for the computer to recognize it and correct. Anyone heard of this?

- I think the two tone paint really looks nice along with the chrome wheels. I'm not fond of whitewalls and I prefer big and littles, but I 82 and kind of stuck in my ways. I've only owned three...
