    reassembly question

     



    I tore my 400 down to put a new cam, cam bearings, main and rod bearings and oil pump in. Is it OK to put the same rings back in that came out of it without honing the cylinders? The cylinders show no sign of wear and there is no ridge.

    You can, but it's not just about the signs of wear. It's about ring tension. If you have the pistons out all ready I would change them.
