What do you mean by redirecting the wires ? If i was to upgrade and get new wires and a distributor with cap, what would be a wise choice as far as best major brand name without going broke.

I was referring to those distributor caps that re-route the wires so 2, 4, 6, and 8 come out the passenger side of the distributor cap and 1,3,5, and 7 come out the driver's side of the cap. Interesting idea marketed numerous years ago that created a lot of problems for people who used them, including me. I saw recently that someone has brought them back.
