I don't see a dilemma. You have a small journal 327 block and since there is a suffix code on the passenger block deck, that's an indication that the block has never been decked or the suffix code would have been machined off. So, find a 283 crank and small journal rods and build a 302 or find a small journal 327 crank and small journal rods and build a 327 or use a 350 crank that has been turned down on the mains, together with large journal rods and build a 350 or find a 400 crank, turn down the mains, use large journal rods and build a 383.
