Nope, it's a over bore question.. right.. Nah.. it's just personalities and opinions.

And if someone can over bore a small block to the amounts as claimed here, And make it live!! God Bless him! While it's un-common it isn't unheard of now is it?!?!

yep and you have one so .do I.did you read the post about has cam i posted ?i did not allied with any one :) i need no backup ... is every one is blind ? show me were i said it could not be done with out a sonic check ? i did talk about how we checked them in the past so do i needed a time out? Like I said before Pat, I've read this a couple times. And I don't believe anywhere in this thread or any others on this forum have I jumped you! I have always respected you and your opinion.

And again, your right, 1gary is entitled to an opinion, just like everyone else that's here.

If I have a different opinion, I'll say so and offer my reasons why, or more likely, you'll just never see me post in certain threads. I stayed out of this one until your saying your getting kicked off!?!? I thought that was craziness so that's why the twilight zone comment. Please don't take that as "jumping you", it really is just the opposite. I just felt the whole thread was going no-where any longer and hoping it'll die a quick death so we can get back to building hot rods!

Yeah.If someone bates me,they get a straight honest answer. Way back in this thread I said I was done. But that wasn't enough for Gasser. He had to make comments about Pat and me. Some threads like this one involve more than the original question in the interest of the O/P. I felt/feel to put in a performance cam in a block of that kind of over bore is risky and brought forth that advise. Did I fuel this debate??. I don't think so. One thing to consider,well really two, is these posts go out over the net due to search engines and are searched from newbies. Misleading info leads to that dreaded phone call from the machine shop the block is cracked after a attempt to bore it bigger than it can handle. The range of machine shops and readership is all over the map. More often than not people read answers that they want. I am offering advise founded on the normal limits and one that should not end up badly. Wither it be the install of a performance cam in a .080 block or the .080 block it's self.

Am I seemingly taking the hit for this thread???. Well I know what I did was the right thing. Giving Gasser two times to show his knowledge (sonic testing and wall thickness) and even than opening the door by saying you never had a failure.Yet he never showed the other side of the story honestly. It was more important to be completely right.

I've really got enough on my plate without having to play disciplinarian here, and up until this morning I've rarely had to step in more than once or twice in a given month. With several members sending me PM's over the course of 24 hours, now I have to take time out and review every post in every thread again. HOWEVER ,I believe it's time for you to take a step back, having watched this thread spiral out of control, I'll say it, enough is enough. Do not respond to this thread again. what compression are you running? i figure stock gears could be anything from 3:42 to 4:10 in a chevy truck. if you can post your compression i can help you pick out a camshaft. also what stall converter do you have,
