My oldest son could only learn through the School of Hard Knocks. Now, at age 34, he is surprised that I could have learned so much during the last ten years!

Many years ago, my father told me, "You will soon be as smart as I am - may already be - but you'll never be as wise as I am until you've lived as long as I have."

My father passed away in 1995 - How die he know??

My Dad has 2 expressions he favors;

1. An empty barrel makes the most noise.
and
2. Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove them right.

I still try and live by them.. sometimes I fail..
