    What carb?

    Hi,

I am new to this site, so hello all. I need some help. I have a project 1970/1971 Corvette. I have a SBC 350/427hp going in. 4 bolt main machined to .030. I have Keith Black hyperutectic pistons 10 to 1 piston set. It has Dart heads w/ 2.02/1.60 valves.
It has a muscle car cam by Comp cams custom series.
    112 center line 488 - 490 lift corrected 1.6 ratio = 520/522 lift,
    226/228 duration. It has a 2500 stall.

I don't really understand all of this but this is what I got. I need to put a carb on this. I have a Torker manifold which I will change if no good. I need clearance under the hood. 1971 vette front end. All idea's will be a great help. Thank you.

I do belive the torker is the only one that will provide the clearence you need, a performer 650-750 should do.

Yeah, actually I'm gonna have to go with Streets suggestion if you got a little extra money, they are now $542 in Jegs but, there are probably other suppliers that are cheaper but, I'm not aware of them . Predators require minimal tuning, you got to ajust the 3 mixture screws but, that's it, they only use the fuel they need and they go from 390 CFM to 930 CFM and ajust themselves so they never undercaurburate nor do they overcaurburate making the engine have perfect carburation all the time. I just said 650- 750 preformer because I was not shure if you wanted an all Edle' setup or not.

I would say in the 625 cfm to 650 cfm range. Demon 625 should work great. Or a 650 Holley, could probably get by with mechanical or vacuum secondarys in your case.
