Didn't your 82 come w/an HEI dist in it.
If so no resistor wire needed & regardless the dist wire would run from the ignition switch & wouldn't have one in it unless it had a point dist which it shouldn't from the factory.
If you're running a point dist you would need to put a ballast resistor in the wire running to the dist.Donate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE
