    road demon jr.

Ok let me start off by saying I am building a 350(washed it down today and start tearing down tommorow) I am running stock flat top pistons comp. should be around 9-1 I am using the vortec heads. I was planning on using the extreme energy 262 cam, but tech says these are hard on the valve train so I am still considering. Stock manifolds dual exhaust.(headers are great if you don't have to work around them) I have had a built 454 about 350hp and a car with an lt-1. This is my 3rd vehilcle (i am 20) and my fisrt rebuild (with my dads help) I want good power and decent mileage. I am going to run a/f ratio gagues on both sides of the exhaust and I really wan't to tune this motor well. I haven't had the much experience tuning carbs, but the only you learn something is to do it right. So after all that is said, the only choice I have not made yet is wich carb. On my 454 I had an edelbrock and had no problems and that is what my dad runs( who is NOT a hot rodder) but I have heard the these carb are suposed to be pretty good. I want to know if anybody has had any experince with the road demon jr. 625cfm ( reliability ease of adjustment etc.... ) in comparison the the edelbrock performer 600cfm.

I looked around the internet and found predators site. Sounds like a good carb, but not a lot of info. I didn't see a price for them anywhere either. I searched this site and found a post that you quoted a price of around 375. I was wanting to keep it under 300, but if it is worth the extra I will spend it. If you could give me a site where they sell them at that would be cool too. Thanks for the info---Dirk

Hey Dirk, make this the 2nd vote for the Predator. I have ran them on the street, drag strip, and dirt track. They work......

I think that I will pass on the predator for now $542 form jegs while the race version is $442? I will only have $1000 in my long block. When I build real hipo motor I will probably spend the cash and get one. For now I will just stick whith what works and pick up an edelbrock.
