Car runs for 15 seconds then dies

So im having an issue with my sbc 350. I just recently redid the entire top end of it and wanted to do the cam break-in. But all shit the fan. Started up fine then just died. I got everything new except the carb i got from a friend that he only had on for 3000km. The motor is in a 88 fiero. Im running electric fuel pump with a regulator down to 7psi. Im going to pick up a fuel pressure gauge tomorrow. My guess is either im not getting enough fuel pressure, or im flooding it with to much gas? or my passages in my metering blocks in the carb. Please help!!
    Thanks alot. Prox.

If your think your getting to much gas and flooding the engine, pull the plugs and see if there wet. I don't think that;s your problem. If you car ran for 5 seconds I say you weren't getting any gas to your carb and it was just running from what was in the bowl, but 15 seconds and then dying sounds like your fuel pump starts to work and then stops. Easy way to check that is pull your fuel line and have a helper holding a can over the end and crank the engine. If your get fuel for a short time and then it stops, you found the problem.
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

7 psi for carb is high for non racing applications most carbs are between 4-6 psi. My edelbrock is 4.5 psi max. Although the fuel pressure is set high,....I dont think that would be the cause of your motor dying after 15 seconds.....it would spudder and run rough. Im also thinking fuel pump problem but not sure.
