    shimming the starter

     



    Is there any way to get the starter gear to come out without it starting the car? i am trying to shim it just right and i need it to come out so i can measure the clearance. If not what is the way to measure clearance?

    Soooo.. his post stired up a questoin ,how do u shim the starter?????What is shimming exactly??
    Its gunna take longer than u thought and its gunna cost more too(plan ahead!)
