The Edelbrock and Qjet have different bases and use different manifolds.
Since you have a 750 Edelbrock, let's work with that. It's an excellent carb for your engine, but is almost certainly rich "out-of-the-box" as most Edelbrocks are. Go to Edelbrock's web site and download the manual.

Your stock main jets are .110 and metering rod size is .075 x .047. I'd recommend going down to a .107 on the main jets (part number 1431) and a .073 x .047 (part number 1456) on the rods. You'll be amazed at the difference.
The jets are $4.00 and the rods are $8-9.00. Be sure to change the gasket (part number 1499). Another $12.00
To go leaner you could try .104 mains (part number 1430) and .070 x .042 (part number 1450) on the rods.
