    timing gun ?

     



    ok so i borrowed a timing gun from a coworker who doesnt know anything about cars. he bought it at a yardsale. its a snapon with the dial at the back. i am not sure what to do with the dial. what should i set the dial on while i am adj the timing?

    Search "dial back timing light" on the web. I don't think I have ever seen one. They are supposed to be "expensive".

    If you set the dial at 0 then you set the timing like you would on any timing light. If you lets say set the dial at 12 then you would point the light at the balancer and adjust the timing so that 0 on timing tab lines up with the o on the balancer then your timing would be at 12. I hope this helps
