open up a can of worms ? here we go on the gear drive you did not ask if there any good ? so i will tell you i would not use one in any thing but you did not ask that so .if your talking cam end play to front cover there should be very small end play 005 to 010 is ok there may be a spot were you may have to grind on the idler pin for it to track there is a front and back to the idler gears . as for the push rods well they could work but they may not be so hot if the block is deck heads cut then you very well could end up needing shorter push rods .were you may need longer push rods are hire setup for springs longer valves on heads smaller base on cam there other things that can come in to play as well so they all get check at mild lift .but if you close your eyes drop them in they will work as a push rod. long as you can get the nut on the stud and its a shoe stock steel stamp rocker you may get away with it .if roller you want to check patten on valve stem with layout past or ink.marker or do a mild lift check
