1.6 roller rockers and valve cover clearance

With 1.6 roller rockers do i need a tall valve cover? I heard you do, but i have also been seeing different sizes of tall valve covers as well,Stock being 3.000 inch Ive seen 3.25, 3.5 3.75. 3.85. How tall do i need to go to run my 1.6 RR's.
    Thanks alot
    Prox.

It really depends on the lift of your cam and the rails on your heads. I don't like the tall valve covers so I am running the low edelbrock elite covers on my 406. My cam is a hyd roller with .560/.578 lift with 1.6 with cork gaskets... no clearance issues. This works out for me probably because the dart pro 1 platinum heads that I have, use high valve cover rails.
If you have cast Iron or OE heads, you are probably lift limited more so than using aftermarket aluminum.
Pat is really the guy to ask on this issue as he probably knows the exact lift figure that you could have.
Oh ... also roller rockers tend to be higher as opposed the roller tips that I am running.
