yep i built some 350s and a 383 with blowers the 383 was a 871 . you will need a very good block .i would look at a crank with a bbc nose. some very good rods .pistons . heads. all this stuff i can go in depth with but stock stuff will not cut it if your going to pack it hard

well what are you going to do with it .drag race . mud .pulling. boat. street ???how much power are you trying to get ? what are you putting it in ? a 871 is a big blower abit of a pain to get a dist to clear the back of the blower

Im building a mini rod puller. I have to use a small block and cant go any bigger than the 871 blower it dont have to be that big.

671 fits better .you should look at a dart block if you want iron if not there some alum block s out there some cheaper and some better .close to the top of the list would be donovan. i would use a crower or callies crank with a bbc snout .i would use a set of alum rods GRP or BME .heads look at the 18 from dart or the cnc 15 from pbm.there about four pistons companys that make nice custom pistons je.ross.cp.diamond. oh and alot of $$
