I did a little work on my 305 and it does well enuff for a cruser/driver.

A comp xe 262 cam ,some rhodes lifters ,roller rockers,a double roller timing chain,edelbrock intake and carb and some ramshorn exaust.
You could skip the rhodes lifters and roller rockers to make it even cheaper.

It should be about 275 to 300 hp ...plenty for what I am doing with it.


It did not cost too much ,untill I added the shiney look good stuff.

Here is a 343 hp build...a little to extreme for my tastes,if i had ti put up with a engine like this ,it might as well be a 700 hp big block.
