    350 Gone Crazy

Hello Everyone, Well I bought a 72 C-10 that had a bad quadra jet on it, I replaced it with a edelbrock 1406, Crunk it over , fired up and sounded better than ever, until I put it into drive, The idle dropped off engine shut down and it took me 4 hours to get it running again,I have to keep the choke open to get it to start, then it idles very high, after it warms up the idle will drop off to a normal idle, If i put into reverse or a drive gear it bogs down, i put it into neutral or park it starts idling high, I dont understand what could be causing all this trouble with a new carb, new plugs, no vaccum leaks, I have the vaccum advance hooked on the non emissions vaccum port being that it is a no emission engine, The problem seems to be putting the vehicle into a drive gear, it causes all kinds of erratic idling, cutting off, fuel loading up, I have never had this problem before and I have built several small blocks, The timing seems to be dead on, I dont understand it, If any of you guys or girls have dealt with this kind of problem before please help me out, before I put a brick thru the windows lol

Cant afford one of those jokers, I have never had any troubles out of edelbrocks, the carb seems to function, just erratic idle if you get it to idle normal (900 rpm) as soon as you hit the gas again it jumps up to a high idle again, then you floor it, it may go back to normal idle, or stay at high idle, weird ,
