Need Some Advice On SBC Engine Combo

Trying to find an awesome sbc combo that will be streetable but still pull awesome numbers at the track, runnin 92 Octane, possible 100 octane mix, I've looked into Edelbrocks Performer Rpm kit (420 HP 9:1CR) and also holley's systemax kit and multiple other combo's, just thought i'd start a post to see if anyone has any awesome combo's they have heard of or used, any info is greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

(Warning! This is just an opinion )

    Chris,
Best thing about your post is you are asking before you spend
Doing your homework is 75% of the goal
    But....
'Streetable' and 'fast at the track' are always at odds.
Making big HP usually means higher rpm's and that usually means a lower rpm penalty of some sort.

In my opinion, streetability is idle to 6 grand.
Build your engine for this range if you are going to use it on the street. It'll still be fast at the track, but easy to drive at the cruise.

My choice is big displacement, good airflow, low drag......
So, if I were to do another SBC, I'd go with:
A 383 (or so) stroker kit
A great set of new cnc ported heads
A roller cam that is mild (idle to 6500 rpm)
    Roller rockers
A single AFB carb on a dual plane high rise manifold.
An auto overdrive trans. 700R4 (or a newer trans ...4LE80?)
    4.11 gear (around there)

And if you want to go a tad faster... Stick Nitrous on it for the few times you run it on the track....

That may be old fashioned as the newer engines and fuel injection make big hp, but your question was more like 'what should I put together on a working man's budget....

World Performance sells a combo like that...

    Just a thought...
    Jeff
